Lagonda is gearing up to celebrate their 100th anniversary next year and Aston Martin will be giving us all something to remember. Usually they would reminisce about the days of old and the history of the Lagonda – but next year Aston Martin will be taking it to a whole new level by bringing back the classic car and showing it off during the 2009 Geneva Motor Show.
Lagonda created cars independently until 1947 when it was bought out by Aston Martin. The automaker kept the Lagonda name from 1976 to 1989 – but the last true model to be produced was the 1961-65 Rapide.
While Aston has not confirmed what form the vehicle, which could hit the streets as soon as 2012, will take, they’ve reportedly ruled out the possibility of a sport-ute. Sources suggest a new competitor aimed at Bentley and Rolls-Royce, although the Longonda will be more focused on performance than long distance cruising.
